Reborn as a Baby And My Entire Family Can Hear My Thoughts Chapter 5

Chapter 05
Chapter 05
*

On the way home, Wang Xiaoyue blocked us at the mansion gates, her eyes wild with desperation. After her rebirth, the gap between her expectations and reality had driven her to the edge. She insisted on staying in the best hotels, but without money, she was quickly thrown out.

Just as she lunged at me with a knife, both Lin Jianyu and Lin Minghao shouted in unison, “Yanran, watch out!”
But the bodyguards my mother, Lin Yuxin, had hired were already on alert. They surged forward, kicking the knife from Xiaoyue’s hand and forming a protective wall in front of me.

“No, this can’t be happening!
I was the winner last time!”
Xiaoyue screamed, struggling against the guards. But Jianyu didn’t even spare her a glance.

“Take her to the station. Make sure she’s well looked after,” Minghao ordered the guards coldly.

Every tree on the estate was rigged with surveillance cameras. This time, there would be no escape for Wang Xiaoyue.

That night, after Xiaoyue was taken away, Jianyu approached me with uncharacteristic caution.
“Yanran, if someone did something wrong and begged for your forgiveness… would you forgive them?”

I didn’t even hesitate.
“Of course not.”

The moon was rising, and for the first time, it felt like the good days for my mother and me were just beginning.

Lin Yuxin’s Side Story 1
When Yanran turned eighteen, I had a dream—a vivid memory of my previous life.

I remembered how, right after giving birth, my baby was swapped. Jianyu brought a stranger’s child to me and doted on her for years, naming her Lin Xiaoyue. I glanced at the crease between his brows and remembered: back when our relationship was still sweet, I’d told him that if we had a daughter, I wanted to name her Yanran.

Maybe it was a mother’s intuition, but I could never bring myself to truly love Xiaoyue. Jianyu would always persuade me:
“We only have one daughter, Yuxin. You should be kinder to her.”

But then, by chance, I discovered that Xiaoyue couldn’t possibly be my child—our blood types didn’t match. I kept this devastating secret to myself, but when I came home, I’d see Xiaoyue, Jianyu, and Auntie Wang Lifen together, laughing as if nothing was amiss. It was like a knife twisting in my heart.

Jianyu even transferred some of his shares to Xiaoyue. And my own daughter? What did she get?

“I’m not needed at the company anymore. I want to travel,” I finally decided.

I thought, as long as I worked hard enough, I’d find my Yanran. Whenever I saw orphans and children without parents, I’d think: if only they could go to school, maybe they’d have a future, just like my Yanran. I left money at every orphanage I visited, then moved on.

Years passed. Maybe it was fate, but I eventually found my real daughter, Yanran, in Auntie Wang’s rural village. I recognized her instantly—she looked just like me when I was young.

“Mommy.”
Her voice was timid, but my heart soared.

When I brought her home, Grandpa Lin insisted Yanran could only return as a foster daughter. By then, my health was failing. I could only hope they’d treat her kindly.

But in the end, Yanran died—run down by Lin Xiaoyue.

“As long as you’re alive, someone might discover I’m not the real Lin heiress. Only with you gone will the secret die,” Xiaoyue had snarled. I could still see her twisted expression.

I never imagined that a child we’d raised with so much love and privilege could be so cruel inside.
“You don’t know, do you? I’ve always known I wasn’t the real Lin heiress,” she’d confessed, sending chills down my spine.

After my death, my soul wandered, forced to watch as Xiaoyue did everything for money—even killing Jianyu and Grandpa Lin. My son, Minghao, ended up as Xiaoyue’s pawn.

Right before his death, Jianyu finally learned the truth: Xiaoyue was Wang Lifen’s child, but not his. Wang Lifen had made sure he’d never have another child.

“Hahahaha!” In my soul state, I laughed until I cried.
“Jianyu, you finally got what you deserved!”

Just as my soul was about to dissipate, I heard a mechanical voice:
[Ding! I am the Wish Fulfillment System. You’ve done so many good deeds in your life, I’m here to grant you a wish.]

“I wish for my daughter, Yanran, to be reborn. And if possible, I want those people to hear her thoughts,” I whispered.
“If possible, I want them, after Yanran returns, to…” I paused, remembering the coldness Yanran suffered at the Lin family.
“After her eighteenth birthday, I want them to have nightmares—seeing everything from Yanran’s perspective. And let them fully realize the consequences of favoring Xiaoyue.”

The system responded:
[Wish received. Your wish will be granted.]

With that, my life ended, but I knew Yanran’s new life would be different.
